New WSU president to tour state

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) _ New Washington State University president Kirk Schulz will be introducing himself to students, faculty and staff across the state beginning Friday.

The tour begins Friday morning in Pullman, where Schulz and his wife Noel will hold a question-and-answer session with the WSU community and then meet with reporters.

They will also travel to WSU campuses in the Tri-Cities and Spokane on Friday for similar meetings.

On Monday, the couple will visit WSU branch campuses in Vancouver and Everett.

Schulz was announced last week as the new president of the Pullman-based school. He replaces Elson Floyd, who died last year at the age of 59.

Schulz is currently president of Kansas State University and plans to assume his duties in Pullman in June.
