Storm legend Lauren Jackson announces retirement from basketball

SEATTLE – Three-time WNBA All-Star Lauren Jackson announced her retirement from the Seattle Storm on Wednesday.

Jackson, who led the Storm to two WNBA titles, played with the team from 2001-2012 before finishing her career with stints in China and at home in Australia. She was under contract with the Storm the past two seasons, but didn’t play here because of a knee injury.

Jackson is one of the most decorated women’s basketball players of all time. She was also a four-time WNBL MVP, a five-time WNBL All-Star, a seven-time WNBA All-Star, a one-time WNBA defensive player of the year and a three-time WNBA scoring champion.

She was the MVP of the WNBA Finals when the Storm claimed its second title.
