Homeless man asks for change at restaurant, gets a job instead

A woman's photo on Facebook has gone viral after she gave a homeless man "a hand up, not a hand out."

Cesi Abi, owner of Abi's Cafe in Minneapolis, said the man came into her restaurant asking for spare change. She asked him why he didn't have a job and explained that nothing had been given to her for free.

"He said 'Well, I have a lot of felonies and no one wants to hire me for that, so now I had to turn myself to the streets and get money the only way I know, stealing and asking for money.'" Abi said.

According to her post, she asked Marcus, "You want to work? I have a job for you! His eyes opened wide and his smile made my day!!!! He said I'll do anything for some food."

Abi says he has shown up on-time for his two-hour shift for two full weeks, and she plans to make his dishwashing position permanent.

"A lot of people are saying I've been a blessing for him, but at that point I was the one who needed a blessing," Abigail told CBS News.

Marcus has been living on the streets since he was 16 and still has a long way to go to turn his life around.

"It's going to be hard for him to let go of whatever addiction he has," Abigail told CBS. "I want to help , but needs to want to help "
