Two men killed in Pioneer Square shooting; police search for suspects



SEATTLE -- Seattle police are investigating a shooting that left two men dead early Wednesday in Pioneer Square.

Officers were called around 5:30 a.m. to the 400 block of 2nd Ave. Ext. S. after receiving several reports of shot fired.

When police arrived, they found one man who was already dead. Medics transported the other man to Harborview Medical Center where he later died.

Witnesses told investigators they heard multiple gunshots and then saw people flee in a car. The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately known.

Police closed 2nd Ave. Ext. S. between Yesler Way and S. Washington St. for several hours, but the road was back open by 8:40 a.m.
