Four people – including two children – trapped in car following I-5 crash near Tacoma

LAKEWOOD, Wash. – Four people were trapped Tuesday evening in a three-car crash on northbound Interstate 5 near Lakewood, the Washington State Patrol said.

Two children and two women were trapped in their vehicle, and one of the women wasn’t responding to troopers.

Fire crews said just before 6 p.m that the crash was being cleared and multiple people were taken to the hospital, one of whom was in serious condition.

The accident happened just south of Highway 512, and heavy backups were building.
