Amazing yearling deer rescue in Pierce County caught on video

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. -- An amazing yearling deer rescue was recently caught on video.

Bill Davis posted this video on his Facebook page March 26 and gave Q13 News permission to share it.  He wrote, "Found a couple yearling black tail deer stuck in some mud! Couldn't watch them struggle!"

In the video, you can see the yearling black tail deer stuck and struggling on a muddy hillside. The heavy equipment operator jumped into action, trying to clear mud from around it. Finally, he delicately scoops it up in his bucket, trying not to hurt it with the massive machine. He then sets it down on solid ground nearby and slowly dumps out the mud and dirt.

The deer doesn't move. But suddenly, the deer springs back to life and walks off, a little wobbly, but no worse for wear.
