Divers recover second body after plane crash near Astoria

ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) — Officials say a dive team has recovered the body of a Vancouver, Wash., woman who was missing after a plane crash in the Columbia River near Astoria.


The Columbian newspaper reports (http://goo.gl/lzzYBq ) divers working with the Clatsop County Sheriff's Office recovered the body of 63-year-old Irene Mustain Monday afternoon.

Divers found the bodies of Mustain and pilot John McKibbin on Friday, along with plane wreckage. Former  Washington state Rep. McKibbin's body was recovered Friday.

McKibbin and Mustain took off in McKibbin's antique plane from Vancouver Wednesday afternoon to scatter the ashes of her deceased husband.

The U.S. Coast Guard soon after got reports of a small plane crashing in the Columbia River.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
