SEATTLE -- Rep. Suzan DelBene, D-Wash., and former UW and NFL quarterback Damon Huard joined a panel discussion Thursday on how to prevent injuries in youth sports.

The panel, which included physicians and coaches, talked about education on better football tackling techniques and the need for the tracking and treatment of sports-related brain injuries.

DelBene toured the host company, VICIS, which is developing a new, more protective helmet that they hope will be on the field in college and pro games this fall.
