After 35-plus years, man arrested in Seattle killing

SEATTLE (AP) _ Seattle police say new DNA evidence has led to a man's arrest in a 1980 killing.

James Buss was found stabbed in his ransacked Belltown apartment on April 8, 1980. In 2002, detectives requested DNA testing on evidence seized in the case, and while a DNA profile of the suspect was identified, they couldn't match it with anyone.

But the department says that late last year detectives collected DNA from a person of interest in the case _ and it turned out to be a match.

Police identified the suspect as a 50-year-old man; he was 14 at the time of the killing. He was expected to make an initial court appearance Thursday afternoon.
