5 teens arrested in Mercer Island with Uzi and loaded AR-15 in car (VIDEO)

MERCER ISLAND, Wash. -- Police arrested several teenagers after officers found an Uzi and a loaded AR-15 rifle in their car Wednesday night.

An officer spotted the five teenagers parked in a lot, and when he began to talk to them, he noticed a bulletproof vest and ammo in the car.

"At this point, we have no idea what they were dong with them and hopefully that will be answered through the search warrant process and maybe finding some more information," said Commander Leslie Burns of the Mercer Island Police Department.

The 19-year-old driver, who said he owned the guns, was booked on a felony -- firearm delivery to ineligible persons -- and a misdemeanor, loaded rifle in a vehicle.  The other four are around 14- to 15-year-old and are from Pierce County, police said. Two had warrants from California and Florida.
