Big blow for UW men's basketball as Chriss and Murray both decide to enter NBA draft

SEATTLE - The University of Washington's men's basketball team just lost its two best players.

Freshmen Marquese Chriss and Dejounte Murray both announced on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon that they intend to enter the NBA draft.

The UW said both will hire agents, meaning they won't be able to change their minds and come back.

Chriss, a 6-foot-9 forward out of Sacramento, averaged 13.7 points and 5.4 rebounds a game last season.

Murray, a 6-4 guard out of Rainier Beach High, averaged 16.1 points and 6.0 rebounds.

Both are likely first-round picks, and some mock drafts have predicted both will be lottery picks.

The Huskies were eliminated from the NIT on Tuesday night.
