No major injuries after bus carrying Indiana team overturns

DEMOTTE, Ind. (AP) — Authorities say there were no serious injuries after a bus carrying 26 players and staff from a northwest Indiana high school basketball team overturned on an interstate.

Indiana State Police Sgt. Alan Jamerson says the rollover occurred Saturday on Interstate 65 near DeMotte.

The bus was carrying the Griffith High School boys basketball team to a state semifinal game Saturday against Marion in Lafayette. Jamerson tells the Post-Tribune that "there are no serious injuries involved."

Griffith High School Athletic Director Stacy Adams says everyone on the bus is receiving medical attention "for preventive measures."

The Indiana High School Athletic Association says on its Twitter account that the game has been postponed. Officials say they'll talk with Griffith High School administrators Sunday about a possible makeup date.
