Two found guilty of deadly Lakewood home invasion robbery

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — Two men have been found guilty of a Lakewood home invasion robbery that left a third intruder dead after the homeowner fired shots at the group.

The News Tribune reports  that 18-year-old Qiuordai Taylor and 20-year-old Duprea Wilson were convicted Wednesday on several charges, including manslaughter, kidnapping and burglary.

They are accused of forcing their way into a home and tying up the homeowner and his wife. Prosecutors say they had expected to find marijuana and cash, but targeted the wrong home.

The homeowner had been able to grab a gun and fired at the group, striking the third intruder, Taijon Voorhees, whose body was found in a Federal Way parking lot.

Defense attorneys argued that there is no legal obligation to help someone seek medical treatment.
