TACOMA — Police said there was an attempted child luring of a Sherman Elementary School student Thursday morning.

Sherman Elementary sent a phone message to parents reporting the incident. The school said the attempted luring took place at about 8:55 a.m. Thursday on North 27th and Mason Avenue in Tacoma.

A bald, black man with a long gray beard and driving a four-door gray or brown sedan yelled at a student to get in his car. The student ran off to school and reported the incident.
