SEATTLE – Hercules Gomez has been practicing with the Seattle Sounders and running through drills at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila.  Gomez was waived by Toronto FC on March 2nd.

Gomez is 33 years old and three years removed from his best season, but he still provides depth for the Sounders who have recently been hit with injuries.   Gomez has yet to sign with the Sounders, but if he does,  he will be one of the more experience players on the team.   Gomez already had one stint with the Sounders when the team was still in the USL in 2003.   He was already with six clubs in his career when the Kansas City Wizards let him go following the 2009 MLS season.

If Gomez makes the team, he will unlikely crack the Sounders starting lineup.  However, he does add experience and depth on a team that could need it down the road.
