Suspected serial rapist charged in 3 attacks on prostitutes

SEATTLE (AP) — Prosecutors have charged a 31-year-old sex offender with three counts of rape involving women working as prostitutes in Seattle.

The Seattle Times reports (http://goo.gl/5blrMA ) Brandon Cole Reed of Kent was arrested last week.

Reed, a Level 3 sex offender considered a high risk to re-offend, is charged with two counts of first-degree rape and one count of second-degree rape from alleged attacks in January.

Charging documents say Reed picked up women along Aurora Avenue North in his car, threatened them, handcuffed them in two of the cases and raped them.

Documents say police arrested Reed after he tried to pick up one of the same women again and she gave his license plate number to police.

Seattle police continue to investigate Reed in connection with five additional sexual assaults involving women working on Aurora Avenue.

He is being held in King County Jail on $500,000 bail.
