SEATTLE — A 92-year-old woman died in a Seattle hospital two days after she was mauled by four dogs in a Thurston County home.

The woman was mauled by up to four dogs when she entered her neighbor’s home Sunday evening. Only one dog belonged to the homeowner, but she was dog-sitting for the others.

Officials say the neighbor helped care for the woman and it wasn’t unusual for her to visit while the neighbor was out.

The homeowner returned while the woman was being mauled. She was able to remove the dogs and call 911.

The Thurston County Sheriff’s office says the dogs are all mixes. They have been taken into quarantine by animal services.

The sheriff’s office says there is no criminal case pending as a result of what they are calling a “tragic event.”
