Disputed results close marijuana testing lab

SEATTLE (AP) — One of a dozen state-certified marijuana testing labs is closed amid a dispute over testing results.

Q13 FOX's news partner, The Seattle Times, reports that Testing Technologies owner and CEO Larry Ward said in a letter to customers that operations have been suspended due to science director Justin Newman's flawed and inaccurate testing for microbial matter.

Newman sent a letter to customers disputing Ward's reasoning, saying he was fired over equity and growth disagreements.

An analysis by data scientist Jim MacRae found test results for microbes and E. coli were not statistically logical.

MacRae did not name labs in his analysis. He said Monday that Testing Technologies achieved the most business-friendly ranking.

Newman said samples have failed microbial matter tests, but not during MacRae's three-month analysis.

The company will be audited next week.
