WMW viewer tips lead to arrest of sex offender who was missing in King County, convicted of preying on young teen

FUGITIVE CAPTURED March 5, 2016 --
Some great work by citizens and Bellevue Police catching a Washington’s Most Wanted sex offender.

Officers arrested Larry Washington Saturday afternoon at the downtown QFC.

He was featured on WMW Friday night for Failure To Register as a sex offender after being convicted of Child Rape 3.

Officers responded to a 911 call from a WMW viewer that Washington was in the store. They found him in a sitting area and asked him for identification. Washington told them he didn’t have any. Officers asked him multiple times to stand but he refused.  The assisted him to the standing position. (Cop talk for pulled him to his feet.) Officers say he actively resisted their efforts to move him to a safe area so they handcuffed him. He continued to refuse to give his name so officers requested a Mobile ID to check his fingerprints which confirmed his identity. They also confirmed his Escape from Community Custody warrant, a DV Violation of Order warrant for $10,000 and a Notice of Trespass for the Downtown QFC. Officers notified him that he was under arrest.  They searched him and found clothing, toiletries, a wallet containing an EBT card and two ORCA cards as well as paperwork belonging to Larry E. Washington. He was transported and booked into the King County Jail.

His criminal history includes robbery, burglary, theft, car theft, a domestic violence crime and drugs.

He is WMW Capture #741.
