79-year-old woman hit, critically injured by Rapid Ride Metro bus in Renton

RENTON, Wash. -- A 79-year-old woman was hit and critically injured by Rapid Ride Metro bus Wednesday, police said.

The accident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Rainier Avenue South.

Police and fire personnel arrived and determined that the pedestrian had suffered life-threatening injuries. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where she was in critical condition.

An investigation is under way.
