Dozens protest in Seattle over fatal police shooting of Che Taylor

SEATTLE -- Dozens of people protesting the fatal Seattle police shooting of a black man blocked traffic for a while Thursday as they demanded police accountability and a criminal investigation.

Many carried signs outside police headquarters to protest the shooting of Che Taylor last Sunday in Seattle's Wedgwood neighborhood.  Police said officers on a drug investigation shot Taylor when he disobeyed commands to raise his hands and get on the ground and instead reached for a handgun in a car.

The Seattle NAACP said Taylor wasn't reaching for a gun and the shooting was "cold-blooded murder."

On Thursday, protesters marched onto Fifth Avenue at Cherry Street, blocking the intersection. Police bike patrols escorted the marchers, stopping traffic for them.

The protesters called for the two officers who fired at Taylor be criminally charged.
