Dog survives after being struck by 13 trains

Lucky Loki

KUNA, Idaho -- Cats may have nine lives, but a dog in southwest Idaho seems to have a few more as it survived being struck by 13 trains.

KBOI reports that Loki the Pit Bull and American Bulldog mix went missing from his Kuna home last week and was struck by a train.

Owner Ryan Rossi says it wasn't until the thirteenth train went over him that a conductor noticed the year-old dog hurt on the tracks.

Loki was identified through his microchip. He lost a leg, an eye and his tail, but is already back to walking since returning home from the vet on Saturday.

The Rossi family racked up more than $7,000 in vet bills, but say they lucky to have him alive. They've set up a GoFundMe page if you'd like to help with expenses.
