2 men charged with dumping body of woman in shopping cart after she overdosed

SEATTLE (AP) — Two men have been charged in connection with dumping a woman's body in a shopping cart in the Ballard area of Seattle after she died of a drug overdose.

Seattle police said Wednesday that Michael Tarp and Michael Kircher have been charged with unlawful disposal of human remains and failing to notify the coroner of 45-year-old Anne Zachariasen's death outside their RV.

Police say an upholstery shop employee discovered the woman's body shortly after arriving at work on Nov. 15, 2015.

Detectives later tracked down Tarp and Kircher as suspects.

Tarp reportedly told police he had found Zachariasen's body and enlisted Kircher to help move her, saying they were concerned the overdose would draw attention to narcotics activity near the motorhome.

Police say Kircher and Tarp both denied giving her drugs.
