Woman hit by light rail in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood

SEATTLE -- A woman was seriously hurt after being hit by a light rail train Thursday in Seattle's SoDo neighborhood.

Authorities were called around 9 a.m. to 5th Ave S & S Holgate St.

The circumstances of the incident were not immediately known. Firefighters said the woman, 48, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Both directions of S Holgate St. were closed during the investigation.

Traffic collision investigators are working to determine how she ended up in the train's path.
