Rapist tried to pimp undercover Seattle cop, prosecutors say

SEATTLE -- Prosecutors say a 39-year-old man tried to pimp an undercover Seattle police officer last month.

According to charging documents, Jerry G. Wood drove by and then approached an undercover female detective along Aurora Ave. N. on Jan. 23. He introduced himself, asked who she was working for, and later offered her money for the night working as a prostitute.

The detective asked how much of the profits she would get and he replied 60%, documents say.

Wood allegedly told her he would also give her "purses, shoes, a warm place and clean people to have sex with." He told her to follow him to his car and he would explain further.

The undercover detective gave the signal and arrest teams moved in and took Wood into custody.

Wood is being charged with 2nd degree promoting prostitution.

He has several convictions including rape, aggravated sexual abuse, criminal impersonation, felony possession of controlled substance, DUI, driving with a suspended license, ignition interlock violation and reckless driving.
