Kelso man gets 15 months for crash that killed wife

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) _ A Kelso man has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for a crash that killed his wife on Interstate 5 in Woodland.

The Columbian reports (http://bit.ly/1mKdaAh ) that 50-year-old Roger Haines was sentenced on Wednesday for the 2013 crash that killed Teresa Haines. He previously pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide.

Court documents show Haines was driving impaired by hydrocodone, methadone and methamphetamine when his car collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer. Teresa Haines was pronounced dead at the scene.

Haines' attorney says all of the drugs in his client's system were prescription excpt for the methamphetamine, which he says Haines did not intentionally take.
