Mom of Federal Way teen who was gunned down calls on suspects to do right thing

FEDERAL WAY, Wash.  --  Sixteen-year-old Wesley Gennings was found dead in a Federal Way parking lot this weekend. He had been shot.

On Wednesday night,  a vigil was held for Gennings.

“Yesterday I had to go to the funeral home and I had to look at boxes I could possibly put my child in,” says Lonnie Gennings, Wesley's mother.

As Lonnie Gennings plans her only child’s funeral, Federal Way police are looking for answers.  Investigators say two suspects were in the car with Wesley when he was shot Saturday night outside a Taco Bell on Southwest Campus Drive.

The suspects took off, crossing the parking lot through a hole in the fence near the Fred Meyer.  Unfortunately, surveillance cameras captured nothing.

While investigators dig for clues, Wesley's friends and family gathered at Decatur High School to remember the sophomore with the big smile.

“If you know something or if you have something to do with it, you should come forward,” says Gennings.

Both Lonnie and detectives are hopeful one of the two suspects will do the right thing.

“The other night I woke up and I could hear him calling me. I could feel his presence in the room,” says Gennings.

Until then, she can have no closure.  Until she gets her son justice,  she will feel no peace.  “I miss my baby.  I really miss my baby,” says Gennings.

The suspects are described as teens to early 20s, wearing dark clothing.
