Supporters, opponents of transgender bathroom rule demonstrate at state Capitol

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Demonstrators on both side of the transgender bathroom issue protested at the state Capitol Monday.

Last week, the state Senate voted to maintain a rule that allows transgender people in the state use restrooms and locker rooms of the gender they identify with.

Some demonstrators at the Capitol on Monday said the rule protects transgender people. But those on the other side of the issue say they worry the law allows predators easy access to girls and women.
