Some area rivers push past their banks, flood roads

SNOHOMISH, Wash. -- This has been one of the wettest winters on record and a new string of storms is bringing flooding concerns to many rivers. Some drivers needed to be rescued after trying to drive through flooded roads.

Homeowners like Jose Becerra will stay up all night watching the water creep closer to his front door.

"If I don`t put the sandbags down, the water will go in so fast in the house and making everything wet in there," Becerra said.

A massive flood in November invaded his downstairs and soaked everything inside.

Experts say the Snohomish and Skykomish rivers will crest Tuesday morning with the high tide. The Tolt and Snoqualmie rivers have already reached their peaks and should be receding.
