Protesters at state Capitol call on legislators to provide full funding for education

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Protesters at the state Capitol Monday demanded adequate funding of education and more opportunities for African American students.

The protesters called on legislators to comply with the state Supreme Court's McCleary v. Washington ruling that requires full funding of education. They also suggested that since the state's high court has held the Legislature in contempt for failing to do so, perhaps it's time for lawmakers to be arrested.

The protesters also called for an end to what they said is increased police violence toward minorities. And they're urging more cities to have civilian review boards to investigate incidents that involve police officers and minorities.
