Forest Service waives fees on Presidents’ Day
SEATTLE (AP) — The U.S. Forest Service is waiving fees for day-use sites in Washington, Oregon and Idaho on Monday in honor of Presidents’ Day.
U.S. Forest Service Chief Tom Tidwell says the waiver includes many picnic areas, boat launches, trailheads and visitor centers.
Concession operations will still charge fees unless the permit holder decides to join the fee-free day.
The waiver doesn’t apply to SnoParks even if they are located on national public lands. The SnoPark program is sponsored by the states of Oregon and Washington.
