Aerobatic stunt plane, another small plane collide over ocean near Los Angeles



LOS ANGELES  (KTLA) — Two aircraft, one an aerobatic stunt plane, crashed into the water after a collision over the ocean off San Pedro, prompting a multi-agency search for survivors on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

The Coast Guard says the midair collision took place around 3:30 p.m. Friday. It's unknown how many people were on board.

Petty Officer Andrea Anderson with the U.S. Coast Guard confirmed that some kind of incident involving two planes, and both were believed to be down in the water.

One of the planes was a Beechcraft 35 and the other was described as an aerobatic stunt plane,  Spencer Parker with L.A. County Lifeguards told KTLA.
