Police are looking for a man they say attempted to kidnap a woman on the street in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, Wash. – Police are asking for help finding a man they say tried to kidnap a woman on the street in Lakewood last month.

The woman said she was walking home from the store at 4:30 a.m. on Jan. 13 on 108th St. SW when a man in a dark blue Chrysler PT Cruiser pulled up and asked for a cigarette. She told him she didn’t have one, and resumed walking.

She said the man jumped out, grabbed her and started pulling her, saying “Get in the car.” She said her shoes and jacket came off as she fought to get away.

Finally, she managed to kick the man in the groin and run away. She said he fell over and she took off for her home, where she called 911.

She said the man was about 5-foor-11 with a medium build and a round face with a stubbly beard. He was wearing a black “DC” jacket with blue letters.
