Man in car shot, killed at Tacoma gas station

TACOMA -- Police say a man sitting in his car was shot and killed Monday at a gas station in Tacoma.

Police spokesperson Loretta Cool said officers were called to the Arco at Center St & S Union Ave after noon.

Few details were immediately known.

Cool said the suspect is armed with a handgun. He was described as a black man in his 20s, 5' 9", 180 pounds, with dreadlocks, last seen wearing a gray hoodie, blue and white baseball cap.

She said around 2:30 p.m. officers had located and were interviewing a potential subject, but police said later that he was not a suspect and released him.

If you have any information, you're asked to call police.
