Oregon student threatens school with toy gun

COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. — A western Oregon high school student authorities say brought a toy gun to school and made threats has been suspended.

Police tell The Register-Guard that the male student at Cottage Grove High School is not expected to face charges.

Authorities say the school resource officer was told about a student who might be armed and took the boy out of class.

The officer determined the boy had a toy cap gun and school officials suspended him. He remains suspended until it's determined he's not a threat.

Cottage Grove is 125 south of Portland.
