Kent mom pushing stroller injured by hit and run driver. “Be honest. Tell the truth of what happened."

A Kent mom hit by a car while she was pushing her 2-year-old son in his stroller has a message for the driver who didn't stop.  “Be honest. Tell the truth of what happened. Somebody could have been seriously in

jured.  I’m more upset about the fact they didn’t stop while I have a child then if it were just myself,” said Candace Butcher.

She was walking on 116th street towards 208th last Wednesday morning when an older model black sedan raced by and hit her with the mirror. Her little boy wasn’t hurt but she suffered some muscle damage and was taken to the hospital. “He could have hit my son. It floods really bad there. My son could have been thrown into what I call the little swamp area in his stroller. I could have been unconscious and my son could have been in the water with no one to help,” said Butcher.

She didn’t get the license plate number but did see the right mirror dangling as it sped away. Kent Police say they searched the area and looked in the high school parking lot in case is was a distracted student driving the car to school but weren’t able to locate the vehicle. Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that locates the car and  identifies the hit and run driver.  Call 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) if you can help solve this case or submit the information on www.crimestoppers.com
