ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) —The oldest son of Sarah Palin is facing several charges in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident at the former Alaska governor’s home Monday night.
The charges against Track Palin, 26, were announced by Wasilla police on the same day that Sarah Palin endorsed GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump.
According to a statement from the Wasilla Police Department issued Tuesday, Track Palin was arrested after police responded at about 10 p.m. Monday to a disturbance at Sarah Palin’s home.
“An investigation revealed Track Palin had committed a domestic violence assault on a female, interfered with her ability to report a crime of domestic violence, and possessed a firearm while intoxicated,” police wrote.
Court documents say Track Palin is charged with assault, interfering with the report of a domestic violence crime and possessing a weapon while intoxicated in connection with the incident.
Palin family attorney John Tiemessen declined to comment Tuesday on the matter other than to say in an email that respect for the family’s privacy is appreciated “as Track receives the help that he and many of our returning veterans need.”
Track Palin’s arraignment was held Tuesday, but Tiemessen was not sure if he entered a plea yet.
