Actor Jamie Foxx saves driver from burning car

LOS ANGELES -- Actor Jamie Foxx, who played the comic book villain Electro in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," became a real life superhero Monday night (Jan. 18) when he pulled a person from a burning car, which crashed in front of his home in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles.

According to the Facebook group Safety for Citizens, Foxx called 911 after hearing the accident. Upon hearing someone in the flipped car screaming, he sprang into action, pulling them from the vehicle to safety. In photos taken at the scene of the accident, fire crews are working to extinguish the vehicle, which caught fire during the accident.

The person Foxx rescued was transported to the hospital with what are being described by Safety for Citizens as major injuries, while a witness on the scene says the victim had severe burns on their face.
