I-90 over pass reopens after tanker rollover, fuel leak, avalanche control work

NORTH BEND, Wash. -- Eastbound I-90 reopened at about 10 p.m. Tuesday after a morning collision involving a tanker truck that leaked fuel. The crash was cleaned up at about 7 p.m. but avalanche control work in the pass kept the highway closed for another couple of hours more.

A Washington State Patrol trooper says another vehicle hit the tanker which caused the crash. This happened after 7 a.m. just east of North Bend.

Eastside Fire & Rescue officials say nobody was hurt in the crash.

The Department of Ecology was also responding to the scene to contain any leaked fuel.

WSDOT estimated I-90 would remain blocked until 7 p.m. as crews work to contain and clean up the fuel spill.
