MINNEAPOLIS – Seahawks punter Jon Ryan was banged up after a botched snap in the first quarter of Seattle’s NFC wild card game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Long-snapper Clint Gresham delivered a low snap to Ryan. By the time Ryan got the ball under control, Minnesota’s defense was converging

Ryan channeled his “American Ninja Warrior” days and took off down the field, eventually attempting to hurl a pile of players.

He flipped awkwardly and came down on the Seattle 29, emerging with a bloody nose.

Ryan returned for a punt with about 12 minutes left in the second quarter.

Kicker Steven Hauschka, who serves as backup punter, has never punted in an NFL game.
