Teenager found shot to death in Burien

BURIEN, Wash. -- The King County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting happened on the 13600 block of 12th Avenue Southwest, not far from Ambaum Boulevard on Friday afternoon.

“I heard what I thought was a loud firecracker as I got to my car,” said Lynda Kuehn, who lives at The Heights Apartment Complex.

That firecracker turned out to be a gunshot and a teenager was killed by the gunfire in the parking lot.

“I got close enough to see the blood and then I backed way off,” said Kuehn who found the body, “because I didn’t want to be a part of that.”

Kuehn quickly called 911 and within minutes deputies and medics were on scene, but deputies said it was too late.

“It appears the victim was shot at least one time. Witnesses also said there was a small 4 door compact car seeing leaving the area immediately after the shooting,” said King County sheriff's Sgt. Cindi Westn.

The sheriff’s office said there was a group of people seen leaving the area right after the shooting, but they don’t know if they were involved.

Meanwhile, Kuehn is still shaken up by what she saw and said she’s ready to move.

“I feel bad for him. I mean it happened right behind my back bedroom. You know I’m thinking that poor kid, when he was putting his shoes on this morning he never pictured how this was going to end.” Added Kuehn.

Deputies will only say the victim was a Hispanic male between his mid to late teens.

Investigators hoping to talk to anyone who may have answers to what happened and say the only possible suspect vehicle is the four-door dark colored car seen leaving the area.
