Students sent home after bomb threat at Shorecrest High School
SHORELINE -- Administrators sent students home for the day after a bomb threat at Shorecrest High School.
According to a statement from Shoreline Public Schools, police do not believe the threat is credible, but they are sweeping the school out of an abundance of caution.
Administrators did not say how the threat was received Friday.
They posted the following statement:
"We have received information about a possible bomb threat at Shorecrest High School. Though police do not believe the threat is credible, out of an abundance of caution they are bringing in a team to evaluate the building’s safety. Because of the duration of time it will take to ensure the safety of the building, students have been dismissed for the day. Buses are onsite to take students home. Students who drove are allowed to drive themselves home. Students who do not drive or take the bus will be kept at a safe location on the school’s campus until a parent or guardian is able to pick them up. Information on the status of evening events at the school will be communicated as soon as possible."
