Tacoma man charged with murder in daughter's fatal stabbing; pleads not guilty

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — Pierce County prosecutors have charged an 81-year-old Tacoma man with second-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of his 49-year-old daughter.

The News Tribune reports (http://goo.gl/PbBy1Y ) that Milton Fabre pleaded not guilty Monday in Pierce County Superior Court in the death of daughter Tamara Fabre. He was ordered held on $500,000 bail.

Court documents show father and daughter argued on Dec. 31 and the argument later turned into a physical struggle. He told a family member his daughter hit him so he hit her with a knife.

After the stabbing, Milton Fabre went to his son's house across the street and asked him to call 911. He and other family members waited for police to arrive.

Fabre is being represented by the Department of Assigned Counsel but has not yet been assigned a lawyer.
