Arson investigation after Marysville Pilchuck HS classroom destroyed

MARYSVILLE, Wash.— A fire was intentionally set in a large recycling bin at Marysville Pilchuck High School late Wednesday night, according to the Marysville Fire Department. The fire spread to a portable classroom and destroyed it.

Battalion chief Scott Goodale said that the fire caused $70,000 damage to the portable

There have not been any other arson fires at the school, Goodale said.

Goodale would not disclose how the fire was started.

The fire department said it happened around 11:40 on Wednesday night.

Fortunately, no one was hurt. Students return from winter break on January 4.
