Food service reopens in Seattle building where hundreds were sickened with norovirus

SEATTLE (AP)  King County health officials have allowed all the food service to reopen in the downtown building where at least 200 people contracted norovirus.



















Health officials inspected the five restaurants and cafes in the Russell Investments Center and cleared them to open on Wednesday morning.Health officials say they are still investigating the outbreak but have not seen any evidence that the outbreak has spread to other locations.

Two people spent one night in a hospital because of this norovirus outbreak and another eight people were treated in emergency rooms during this past week.

Norovirus is very common, and more than a dozen outbreaks are confirmed or probable in King County each year. It is highly contagious and quickly causes sickness. It can spread through food and water as well as person-to-person.
