Suspect in Vancouver coin shop killing may have died

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — Vancouver police say the suspect accused of killing a man inside a Vancouver coin shop may have died in a car crash.

The Columbian reports that the 18-year-old Seattle-area woman accused of the killing may have been killed in a car crash Monday in California.

A woman thought to be the suspect and a man were involved in a wrong-way crash in Yolo County, northwest of Sacramento, Calif.

The woman is suspected in the death of 58-year-old Bentley Brookes. Brookes worked at to Pacific Bullion Precious Metals on Main Street, where he was shot to death Nov. 25.

The Vancouver Police Department said it's waiting for the Yolo County coroner to confirm the identity of the female killed in the crash.
