Oregon high school cancels dance over dirty dancing

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Administrators at a Portland high school have canceled an upcoming winter dance because of concerns about dirty dancing.

Portland Public Schools spokeswoman Christine Miles says that some of the dancing at Cleveland High School has been "over the top, sexual in nature."

Miles tells KGW-TV (http://bit.ly/1R9qgDh ) that some families don't think the dance should be cancelled, but there were students worried about their safety.

Several students told KGW that they shouldn't be punished for the actions of a few of their classmates.
