16-year-old girl found tied up in school bathroom says she was beaten by 2 students

SEATTLE -- A 16-year-old student was found tied up in a bathroom Tuesday at TEC High School (Technology, Engineering & Communications) on the Evergreen campus, and she told detectives she was beaten and tied up by two other girls.

According to the King County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the school on the 800 block of SW 116th Street shortly after 8 a.m.

The girl told authorities that she had been beaten up by two girls who then tied her up and left her in the bathroom. Another girl who walked into the bathroom discovered her and told authorities.

Highline School District says the girl was not seriously hurt, but medics did take her to Highline Medical Center.

Student Erin Stevens said, "They just told us that someone got jumped in one of the girls' bathrooms. She was tied up with a scarf; that's all we heard."

Deputies said no further details would be released at this time.
