Magnitude 2.8 earthquake strikes in Puget Sound near Kingston

KINGSTON, Wash. -- A magnitude 2.8 earthquake struck in the Puget Sound Thursday night about 3 miles north-northeast of Kingston, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The quake occurred at about 10:26 p.m.  and was at a depth of nearly 12 miles.

There were no reports of tremors being felt, according to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network.
