Seattle's Joel McHale looking for work after announcement that 'The Soup' is ending

LOS ANGELES – Well, we hear Dick’s Drive-In offers good benefits if things get desperate.

Longtime Seattle resident Joel McHale is out of a job – though almost certainly not for long – after The Hollywood Reporter reported that his long-running clip show, “The Soup,” is ending next month.

The show, in which McHale riffs on the week’s reality TV programming, has been an E! staple for 12 years. Its genesis comes even earlier; predecessor, “Talk Soup,” debuted in 1991.

McHale, who attended Mercer High and the University of Washington, is perhaps best known for his role on “Community,” and for a string of movies. THR reports that he’ll likely be in high demand during the upcoming pilot season.
